My little girl is 9 1/2 weeks old and I haven't bought her anything for Christmas. She is too young for things and to be fair I buy her lots of stuff all the time only yesterday I bought her clothes etc. others have got her presents eg family and friends and I plan to put £50 in her credit
Union account next week. I put in £20 every week anyways. Should I dash out and buy her a Christmas present, it's just my
Friend has a baby the same age and has spent a fortune for Xmas on her baby. But my little girl has everything she needs for the next year already as I went a bit over the top shopping while pregnant

I wouldn't bother, she will never know.

If anything I would get a "first christmas decoration" or something similar as a keepsake but I wouldn't bother with actual gifts.

Nope. I had similar age babies twice at Christmas. Bought them nowt.

Plenty of time for Santa to come in future years.

Hope you have a lovely Christmas with your baby.

No, we did the same when DS was 14 weeks old. Family and friends got him so much, we got him some wooden bricks I think! No point, save your money for when she'll remember it!

chocolatemartini · 24/12/2014 11:44

No, I don't bother until they're about 2 1/2- 3. She won't know or care Grin

No you're not a bad Santa, you're a good parent. The other parents are buying those gifts for themselves and not for the baby who isn't even aware it's Christmas. Enjoy your time together with but over the silly season, that's gift enough this year.

It's my 20 month old's second Christmas and I only had three gifts for her; two from me and one from Santa and that even seemed like too many.

My dd was 3 1/2 weeks on Christmas day - we didn't get her a think - although we've bought her plenty.

Glad we didn't as family and friends went crazy - I think we need a bigger house to accommodate it all!
