Can anyone answer this question for me?
If 2 parents separate and then divorce, with the child having been taken to another European country by the mother and in that divorce
parental authority is taken from the father. What would happen if the mother died? Would the father have parental authority
restored automatically?

you might be better to post on legal but if the father has been stripped of parental responsibility then I don't think it is automatically restored upon the death of of the mother
