Child friendly locks for new kitchen?

We are having a new kitchen fitted and ideally don't want to have to screw child friendly locks inside the cupboards/drawers. Does anyone know of any alternatives?

It's a gloss cream, integrated handle kitchen.

Baby Dan magnetic locks go inside cupboard and are good although a couple of ours have just stopped catching for some reason

Try it without locks - babies and toddlers will quickly learn not to go in the cupboards if you repeatedly stop them from doing it. Or have one drawer/cupboard that they can access. We have all the children's plates, bowls, cups, cutlery in one drawer that they can open and help lay the table with.

We've never had locks either - give it a go before fitting them?

Your baby or toddler is not likely to be left unsupervised in the kitchen
Like a pp says they soon learn the boundaries
Its much safer to organise your kitchen so that knives and dangerous items are not within their reach

We did without for a while as loads of people told us he'd get bored if constantly removed. He hadn't after 2 months and I was fed up with it taking twice as long to do anything in the kitchen as I kept having to stop him getting at breakable dishes. You might have a less persistent toddler!

We're adopting and so have to have locks or catches on all of them! We've got a lot of big drawers instead of cupboards so we bought the ikea latches. They screw on though and they wouldn't work on our top drawers so we also got the baby san magnetic locks. They're a doddle to fit and use and you can "disable" them if you wish. Argos is currently the cheapest place for them.

Velvet - happily we had a sensible SW who agreed that we didn't need to fit our place out like Fort Knox as long as we would have been willing to do whatever if DD had been that sort of child that wanted to get in everything

Families how lovely for you, I wish we were that lucky.?? we've got a set of internal french doors that we're not sure on whether it has safety glass or not. We had to buy the film to put on them but they look absolutely awful, there is no way I can live with them so now going to see how much it would cost to get the glass to replace them!

We've managed 2.5 years without locks. Dd has just been told she doesn't go under the sink

Velvet, remember that the rules they insist on at placement aren't actually hard and fast and they would be v unlikely to remove a child after placement - and after the adoption order SW have no say in your household arrangements at all
