5 year age gap?

I'm in early days pregnancy with a much wanted 2nd DC, having been trying for a year. DD is 4 and DC2 will be due 3 weeks before she start school (aaaah) and a couple of months before she is 5. We had hoped for an age gap of about 4 years but obviously life doesn't always work out that way, but I am just so very happy to be pregnant again.

Does anyone have any experience of a near 5 year gap? Any advice?

Well we have an 8 year age gap between dd and ds. Don't see what your point is... Do you think that 5 years is too much?
Between my siblings there is a 27 year gap (eldest brother is 31, youngest is 4)
A close friend has just 11 months betwren her 2 ds and both are under 2! (I have no idea how she copes)
To be honest I think age gaps are just that...
There is no right or wrong age gaps, perhaps some are preferable, but that depends on the parents. We enjoy that dd is so grown up and likes to have input in choosing ds clothes for the day etc but my aforementioned friend loves that they will grow up incredibly close and when they get to 5/6 years old, they will be into pretty much the same things.

Ds1 was 5.3 when dd (dc3) was born

He was and is a lovely big brother, he has lots of patience for her

Ds2 was 3.11 when she was born, he's never been as interested in her and doesn't quite get being gentle

DD and DS have 5.5 gap.

Eldest (DD) was not that interested tbh, they fight a fair bit but do have an occasional heartening interaction.
If the shit hits the fan though, and he is in trouble his sister is the first to defend him. If they are in trouble with me, they will also close ranks.

I think my DC love but don't necessarily like each other.
Not sure if this is due to gender, age or personalities.
