Full time OU and council tax

Hi All,

DP is looking at gong to uni but we're thinking OU may potentially be a more viable option. Does anyone know if we'd be entitled to a council tax reduction if he were to do it the OU route (full time)?

All local authorities differ on this issue. If he studies 120 credits the Ou will quickly issue him with the relevant letter for the council but whether they accept it or not is at their discretion.

Where I live I was fine and studied full time for 3 years with them.

Unfortunately it is such a specific issue it is one of those things you cant really find out until you physically go down there with the letter. Of course you can ask, but they rarely know.

Something you could do is join a load of OU facebook groups and ask for people in your area. You may be able to find someone who has been sucessful with it.

I am in Leicester city btw.
