Could my 12 week old be teething?

My 12 wk old constantly has his fists in his mouth and dribbles everywhere....he's been like this the last 2 weeks or so. I was at a baby class today with about 15 babies of a similar age and he was the only one doing it which has made me think it isn't necessarily a developmental thing which I thought it was?

That sounds like teething to me, both mine were at that age. Ashton parsons powder is what you need, or Calgel to rub on his gums. DS1's eyes used to roll back in his head because it was so nice having the pain taken away, I used to sit there rubbing his gums with my finger for hours!

Yes! I started the exact sane thread when my DD was 11 weeks. Her first tooth has just started poking through her gum at 24 weeks.

It's really annoying as their mouths are too small for teething rings etc.

Someone on here recommended Anbesol liquid - it's brilliant. Ashton & Parsons powders work for my DD but did nothing for my niece.

Health visitor told me once this was also to do with the child developing her speech...? I don't know but everyone you ask will probably say teething.

yes, but teeth still might take months to appear.

the milk teeth start moving inside of the gums and it's a slow and obv at times painful process.

it is worst at night because all muscles relax, inc gums, so growing teeth cause more pain as they trying to make their way to surface.

teething rings or teething "dummies" can be useful.

when the teeth are actually about cut through and baby is in a lot of pain, typically at night (imagine baby writhing in floor and screaming and you can not console or hold them them because they are hysterical! ) I use Dentinox gel and wait a bit for child to calm down, then give them Calpol.
it's a combo I swear by and they tend to fall asleep much easier after to help them fall asleep.

if their bottom gets sore/bleeding my best solution is Vaseline. best barrier cream I know.

you might prefer to buy some earplugs, just so you can endure high pitched screaming at all for longer.

Lots of people will say teething, but honestly, babies just love to mouth their hands and drool everywhere. My DD started doing this at six weeks, but didn't cut Her first tooth until seven months.

I can beat that, DS3 - first tooth appeared at 14.5 month!
I used to say the kid would have baby dentures if no teeth by age 2!

Yup, my DD is the same, 12 weeks adjusted age (preemie), now 15 weeks adjusted. Drooling, chewing on hands, screaming in pain, explosive green vinegary poop (no one warns you about that but health visitor assures me not unusual) red cheeks. We use a mix of the camomile powders, dentinox and calpol. Can't wait till she can hold and chew on teething rings. We looked into gummee gloves but reviews so mixed I didn't want to waste £15 if it didn't work.

Little missmilkymoo has been like this for the past few weeks - she is almost 15 weeks now. She has been gnawing on her fist, has a slightly flushed cheek, and drools like crazy, but the hv says it's just normal development and not teething. I'm not sure...she chewed awfully hard on my finger yesterday! I hope it's not teething though as I'm scared of being bitten when breastfeeding!
