Lump on head - how long to go down?

Hi,

Hopefully a straightforward one!

Ds2 who has just turned 2 has bumped the middle of his forehead. There's a circular bruise and a little bit of a bump (I wouldn't say an egg like swelling but heading that way).

This happened on sat night and it's gone down a little but there's still a quite noticeable bump there.

How long does it take for these sort of knocks to go down? I thought it would be ok when he woke the next morning.

Any ideas?

My DD went head first into a wooden table. It took a week to go down!

Ouch.

Do you think there's any point putting ice on it this late on?

I can't see him sitting still for it!

DD is 18 months old, I tried ice, she was having none of it!
