If baby hasn't fallen asleep on the bottle, do I just put him down and leave him to chunter on to himself?

He is a week old, and I have a toddler so you would think I remember this! But I dont. I feed and then swaddle him and we are now both lay in bed (him in his crib) but I have no idea if I should just leave him there or try and do something to get him to sleep.

He isnt crying - if he were Id try the dummy or a cuddle.

What do / did you do?

Sounds perfect. Leave him if he's happy and try to get some sleep yourself! Fingers crossed that he'll just snuffle off to sleep soon. Congratulations and keep your strength up (I remember that toddler plus newborn stage....)

I don't think a one week old would be self settling - I bf mine so he would 80% if the time feed to sleep but if he didn't I would rock him in my arms til his eyes closed then hold him for 10 minutes to make sure he was properly asleep then transfer to the Moses basket.

Well he ended up grizzling for a long time so tonight is rocking to sleep! Give that a whirl.
