Wellie Boots - sooo frustrating!!

With the onset of the wet weather I got my 17 month old some wellies to wear when we go out to the woods etc.

Thing is I have the worst time getting them on his feet. It seems like I am physically incapable of putting them on him! He gets upset, I get frustrated and after much pushing/shoving and wiggling the wellies finally go on - it's such a mission!

Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me??

I cut the top couple of inches off ds boots as I had the same problem! He has very wide feet.

Oh I find he wriggles his feet down when I stand him up in them rather than me trying to shove them on.

Can you sort of "drop" him into them after placing them halfway onto his feet? Let the laws of gravity and sheer force work for you?

I buy a size too big and put extra socks on

GothicRainbow · 27/10/2014 16:24

I might well take a pair of scissors to them - would be ever so satisfying!!

Thanks for the advice everyone, will have a go at dropping him into them and see if gravity will help me out.

My friend who I saw today recommended I look at mothercare wellies as they seem to be abit wider and also get a big pair and get some waterproof trousers with the elastic that goes under the foot to hold the boots on so might try that too.

Yet more money needing to be spent - bottomless pit springs to mind Confused

My youngest spent last winter in Lidl snow boots. They have velcro straps so the tongue opens right out and they are waterproof.

Your friend is right about the mothercare wellies!

zip up snow boots - DS may look a bit weird in snow boots at the park in October but that's just how we roll.. Grin

Snow boots might be good for us! Where did you but yours from?
