OMG I can't do this anymore I need to go out to work?!

Had enough, staying at home for the 3rd time round is driving me stir crazy. I NEED TO GET OUT!!! Fed up with constant tidying, cleaning, cooking and the whinging crying toddler

Maybe Im just having a bad day but the grass certainly looks greener on the other side at the moment! Sorry, that was a real moan moment wasn't it!?

Anyway. Have any of you seriously jacked it in and gone back to work cos you could stand it no more!!!? And ... was it better?!

me too poppies...i find this funny because your name makes you sound like the type of person who would rejoice in a mums/playgroup meet!!!!!
It does bore me but my dp is in and out of work and i see him 1-2 and 3.30-5.00 so its not too bad for me

Can understand totally where you are coming from, I've been at home now for almost four years and the baby stuff is all pretty much done - DD2 will be off to nursery next year, so I am wondering what to do. It's as much for my sanity as a bit of pocket money, I really miss adult conversation - about anything!!

God as a SAHM (5 years) who never thought she would ever want to work again, I find myself thinking about starting up my own HR consultancy business. Dipped toe in helping in classroom, but I think i need to be around adults, and be in control of my own hours. May post here in a few months time to say that it has all failed, but as ds2 is now 3 and is at kindergarten every morning, I feel i need to something for my own sanity. Not for the money, but I need to use my brain. Anyway my tome over, just thought I would ever write this

I'm with you, petitfilou, right down to being a non-beach-loving Londoner .

Poppies, going back to work after my maternity leave for No.1 was the hardest thing but once I adjusted, it was such a relief - even commuting was blessed me-time. Now that I am on maternity leave with No.2, I am looking forward to going back to work after a year off.

Just different strokes...

Its really good to hear other peoples views. Thats why I love MN so much

LOL Tarka! re comment about my name! 'playgroup' meets make me want to bury myself head first in a pile of sawdust!

I worked PT from home with DS1 which worked really well. I had DD and couldnt manage work and juggling kids so decided to be a SAHM which worked fine too. Now I have had DS2 and been a SAHM for 6 years Im beginning to go dolally!!!! Its really good to hear how other people feel. Feel a bit better knowing its not just me

I get bads days like those - it's the domestic drudgery aspect, not so much the kids (although they do drive me nuts sometimes - aged 2 and 4). It doesn't help that I also have 3 chickens and 2 dogs which adds to the chores and 'burden of care' (feeding, watering, walking and shit shovelling).

Other days however seem quite charmed...and even today (which was a bad day) after I had dropped ds off to his once weekly 2 yr old 'play session' at Pre School, me and the dogs took a walk through the woods with the sun warming our backs, and autumn leaves and acorns crunching under foot.

When I worked part time I definitely found it easier - someone else fed my children (all 3 meals) for 3 days per week, and we came back to a pristeen house which hadn't been trashed by rampaging lo's all day
