I'm actually going to 2 today cos I'm mad!

I'm hoping to stock up for next few months, so first foray into crawling, and also Christmas.

How do I keep a crawling baby dry in winter? Magic coat or stop her crawling?
What should I look out for in stair gates?
What are the best things for baby proofing?

Please give me your clues!

What did you buy in the end?

Too much!

Some dungarees and jeany type trousers
Warm winter coat
Waterproof with legs (genius)
Sock ons (you know you're truly converted to parenthood when you yelp with glee over something you didn't even know existed before you had a child)

Peg puzzles
Wooden ring toy and shape sorter
Walker trolley with bricks, bargain new at £4!
Ball pool and balls (poss silly buy but only £4.50)

And a load of other bits and pieces.
Still no idea about stair gates and baby proofing but had fun spending £50 (oops)

We picked up wooden pressure fit stair gates on a local Facebook selling site, £10 for two, mega bargain. They are by Baby Dan I think. As for baby-proofing, we have been a bit lax really - we have got little foam wedges to slot onto the doors to stop slamming on fingers, plug socket covers, and that's about it. We did buy some cupboard locks, but haven't put them on yet, although it will need to be done soon, as my almost 1yo is now getting into all the cupboards and it's driving me nuts!

I don't think the ball pit and balls is a silly buy at all, babies love them! Great bargain with the brick trolley, my daughter loves hers. Had I seen this thread at the weekend, I would have recommended you look out for Megabloks, my little one absolutely loves hers, hours of entertainment!

Dd has so far cried every time I put her in the ball pit (even in the kitchen with me) but quite happy in the other room with a peg puzzle for company. No accounting for taste!

Don't buy plug covers! Google it, they can be really dangerous.
