weaning poo - what's normal?!

Dd is six months at the weekend and is loving solids so far - but her bottom is not! We've had explosive diarrhoea for days now, going 6-8 times a day and in the middle of the night again. She seems fine in herself and I can't pinpoint a specific reaction to any one food. She's only just started having dairy and wheat.

We did baby led weaning with ds and he didn't eat much for months, so I've no idea what puree weaning poo is like!

Hmm. DD did poo more when we started her on purees - though I don't think it was that much (more like up from once a day to 3 times) and it wasn't runny iirc, though she did get bunged up on some foods and then runny would follow iyswim.

She also didn't poo in the night though I have heard that is quite common when they start solids.

How much is she eating? Could be an allergy or could just be her system reacting to the new challenges ... Maybe try cutting down quantities a bit?

She' is eating quite a bit actually - she's loving solids and I don't know if I should be feeding her until she has had enough?! Maybe I'll scale back. I know they say that babies don't equate solids with satisfying hunger this young, but I swear dd knows exactly what she wants and boob just doesn't cut it with her sometimes!

My DS has a tummy bug at the moment! We have explosive diaria 8/9 times a day he is still happy and playing but even pooping in his sleep might me worth checking with a GP if your LO has the same kind of thing!
