My beautiful little madam is very strong willed, and very strong physically to boot. She point blank refuses to let me brush her teeth. SHE will brush it herself and occasionally, she will let me hold her hand and direct the brushing, but on other occasions she will not and I don't know if this is normal. My son was not a problem, but then boys are quite different to girls...! Any suggestions..???

Does she like counting or numbers at all yet?
What worked here was counting the amount of brushes he or I did, but speeding up the counting to manic speeds or slowing right down to slo-mo speeds. He finds this hilarious and doesn't mind at all now either brushing his own teeth or me doing it for him.

I started doing it I guess when he was about 2 or so. Lots of OMG WOW 100 brushes or oh no mums a slow poke only 5 brushes tonight. Of course the brush is always going regardless of the counting takes all my brain power to outwit a toddler Grin

We had to pin both of ours down for a while. It was awful but they eventually get the idea that it's non negotiable and give in.

Pink - Halos and Horns do a fruity one for little ones. It's pink too!

Same story here with 2 yr old DS. It's the twice a day job I dread and I long for the time when there are less histrionics attached to it!

Some days mine does a reasonable job of brushing his own teeth. We do have to resort to pinning him down most other times though and I hate that, but would hate even more for him to have bad teeth obviously.
We've tried everything! All brushing teeth together, brushing his teddy's teeth, different toothbrushes and toothpastes. Makes no difference.

We are the same as incon above. They get pinned down if they mess about. Had some success getting them to do it whilst in the bath. We have ice cream flavour toothpaste from Tesco and various fruit ones
