podiatry referral for 14 month old dd

Not sure if I am posting in the right section so apologies if not!

I noticed a couple of weeks ago that the second toe on dd's left foot is raised and sits over her big toe. It doesn't effect her walking (she walled at 9 months) and as long as she is in doodles or boots she is fine but I have noticed that when she has her startrite shoes on she fusses and cries.

I spoke to the health visitor today mainly because gp is fully booked for the next month and it's not an emergency. she has said she will refer dd to a podiatrist and muttered something about splints.

anyone had any experience with this and can tell me what they might do?

thanks

Curly toes sorry !!!

No idea really, except to say my DH has this!

He's mid-30s, said he didn't know if it was just something that went untreated when he was a baby in later 1970s, or if his mum just hadn't sought help.

But, he has no issues with walking, is keen cyclist and rock climber. Hasn't held him back at all.

thanks for the curly toes info - i have a family inherited thing similar where my little toes om both feet are on their side and sit under the next toes which dd also has had since birth but have only noticed this thing with the other toes in the last couple of weeks. curly toes looks like it is a from birth thing normally. any idea if it can develop of they were previously normal?
