Student social worker child observation

Hi everyone,

My name is Victoria Hammond and I'm a student social worker working in Kensington and Chelsea and living in Lambeth. Learning about child development is an important aspect of my course and as part of that I have to do an observation of a child (aged 1-6 years old) who is progressing well in an ordinary, well functioning family. Social workers often work with very stressed families who are facing considerable difficulties. It is important that as a social worker I have a good knowledge of children growing up in families where there are no concerns about their welfare.

I'm sure you can see where I'm going with this - are there any mumsnetters in the Kensington & Chelsea or Lambeth areas (or nearby) who would be willing to let me observe them and their child please? It would be for 6 one hour sessions, arranged at times/days to suit you. If you, or anyone you know would be willing to take part, please do let me know! I have an enhanced DBS check and the observations would of course be completely anonymised.

Many thanks in advance,
Victoria

I think you need to ask MN to move this thread here.

All the best in finding a family - I am in the wrong area but had someone observing me and my son for the first two years of his life as part of a child development course.
