6 month old bedtime routine

Does your 6 month old have a bath every night before bed? Interested to hear other routines before bed. We are doing ok recently with going down after bottle but wanted to know if others always do a bath each day.

I'd be interest to hear this also. I'm a first time mum with a 3month old and bathing at night before bed doesn't suit us. It's better for me to bath her in the morning, but I know bathing is a good bedtime cue.

Yes we have done a bath every night since 8 weeks old, as pp said - it's a sleep cue now. Even on holiday when only had a shower we put him in the kitchen sink!

None here- she has a wash every morning and a bath about two/three mornings a week. Mornings just suited us better and she generally goes down well now with bedtime routine of nappy change, PJs, song, feed and into her cot.

We do but just because it suits DS and is now established in his bedtime routine. No need to do it if it doesn't fit well. Our routine is story, bath, pjs, saying night to everything in his room, song and bed.

We do every other night and it's no problem. We just do a bit of moisturiser and change into PJs etc on non-bath nights. He doesn't settle any better or worse either way.

We do every other night or so, if we're feeling tired.... We do nappy off time on the change mat and then into the bath if we're doing one, or a quick flannel job if not then clothes, feed, bed.

must remember to brush her teeth must remember to brush her teeth

At six months we did
Porridge
Bottle and normally he would be a bit hyper
Nappy
Pjs
Teeth
Put in bed quick back rub and say good night

We still do the same at a yr (except milk is in a cup), brushing his teeth is his night time cue.

DS is a bit older (nearly 10 months) but we've done the same for ages-We don't bath every days as DS has eczema and it can make it worse. We do bath, creams, pj's, teeth, night-night kisses, bottle then bed. Not having a bath some nights doesn't make a difference. We're trying to jiggle the routine to do teeth after bottle so he goes down without feeding but he's proving resistant to changeSmile

Thanks everyone. We have been doing a bath every other night for a while as we don't always fit one in after a busy day and I've been wondering if we need to be a bit more consistent. It doesn't seem to affect how they go down though so I think we will leave it as it is for now.
