When baby touches sides of moses basket...

... does this mean he likes the narrow sides or hates them?

Our 7 week old tends to sleep with his arms straight out touching the sides of the moses basket. And when he is in active sleep he bashes them constantly with his hands.

Does this mean that he likes feeling enclosed? Or is it time to move him to the cot?

Is it the cause of him waking or I'd he still only waking for food? If it's the former I'd transfer, if not then he's fine where he is. Of course it depends on whether you can fit a cot in your room - I can't so it means as soon as dd outgrows basket she has to go on her own

Probably means he likes stretching out. We have our 3wk old DD in a crib and she keeps sticking her arms out the sides. Think she likes the space!

Mine used to shove her face right into the side of the Moses Basket and flail her head from side to side when settling to sleep. I thought it meant she was outgrowing it (which she was) and needed more space. However she now buries her head into a blanket in her cot and does the same into the side of her buggy when napping. She likes snuggly sleeping!

Thanks for the replies, well we've got a cot so I guess we can try both and see what happens!
