hi, any advice please? I am mother of a three year old who goes to nursery. Yesterday she came home with a bite mark, it looks like the top layer of skin has been taken off but skin was not entirely pierced. Husband said to not go to doctors as I am known as being overly anxious there. However I am anxious and according to research on the internet she should take antibiotics. Any advice / experience?

Yikes, I'd be asking the nursery if they know anything about it? How does the top layer of skin come off but not pierce the skin...? As the mother of a biter, I'd expect the nursery staff to be aware of this incident happening?

I've never heard of taking antibiotics for a bite. Tetanus shot perhaps if the bite was from an animal - but if she's up to date with her jabs she'd have had that anyway.

Where did you read about antibiotics? Confused
