Any experience with recurring impetigo?

My 2.4 yr old DD keeps getting impetigo on her chin and some has spread to her nose. Shes not ill with it and no temp. Shes had it almost continually all summer. Shes been seen by several GPs, given antibiotics twice, fucidin cream, fucibet cream, canesten cream. After about 2-3 weeks it clears up with the cream, especially the fucibet (which is antibiotic and steroid cream) but 2 days after I stop putting it on it reappears. Im at my wits end with it. The last doctor wouldn't give her any more antibiotics saying its not good for her to have too many antibiotics which I understand but I just don't know where we go from here. The GP said as its localised to one area she wouldnt swab it. If it was in other places aswell she would. She sucks her fingers so her chin is always wet which is an ideal environment for the bugs to multiply and grow. The doctor said I need to tell her to stop sucking her fingers but its impossible. She just puts them straight back in when I tell her not to. Its also how she settles herself at night and naps which I would have no control over.

I have another appointment later in the week but just wondered if anyone had any experience of this and any ideas?

Not much help but are you being scrupulous in terms of clean flannels, towels etc? It's so contagious easy to reinfect.
