This site is good: www.dayoutwiththekids.co.uk/

Where abouts in the North West are you? I'm Wirral based so not much help unless you need tips for the Wirral, Chester or Liverpool centre?

Have you tried the swimming pool and library? Are you after a day out type of thing like Chester Zoo, Manchester Art Gallery or Blue Planet or something like Trentham Gardens or Cheshire ice cream farm. Tatton has a great playground and lovely gardens too Smile

Most of the art galleries and libraries in Manchester have toddler sessions which are free.
If I don't have anything to do Ill take DS to a garden centre. They tend to have some combinations of aquariums, play grounds, small pets (rabbits, birds), duck ponds fountains and water features. DS likes to smell the different herbs and flowers. One near us also has a miniature train. And they always have coffee shops with nice cake!
