What are these called and where do I find them?

I'm looking for something to adapt my dining room chair so that DS can use it when eating instead of his high chair.

I've seen some use a fabric belt type thing that wraps around the child and the chair, or I've seen ones that sit on top of the chair.

Where do I find them? I've looked allover mothercare and couldn't find one!

Booster seats - although I don't know what the fabric ones are called, but they don't raise the child up at the table.

Liking the tot seat thankyou star girl! Do you know what age they can be used up to? I can't seem to find much info about age!

I have one of the fabric ones and it's ok in an emergency but it's a compromise solution and I wouldn't use it everyday.
These might be more convenient.

you can get them all over the place, Argos, Asda, Tesco, etc. We sued one for about a year when DS and DD were between 2-3. Getting cross being "separate" in the high chair but too small for the normal chairs. they strap on underneath and round the back of the chair and have a strap for the child as well. Some come with removable trays also.

Jojomaman bebe have those fabric things you mean, but I would only use them for out and about (cafe, friends house), not everyday. For a start, it'd get covered in food!

We had one like the Safety First one in those links. It had a harness and a removeable tray. One of our best buys when the dses were little. We used it at home and also when visiting grandparents, going on holiday etc.

Handysitt as linked to above is fantastic, we have one we bought second hand.

It raises them up to table height and is so easy to move around. We take it to grandparents as it folds down, too. Can't recommend them highly enough!

Jojomamanbebe fabric sling for using as a high chair. We had this one - was quite handy when out and about.

If you are looking for a chair for a toddler / child which can just slot under your table and doesn't take up a huge amount of room like a high chair does, then these type of things are a really good step between sitting on an adult chair and a classic high chair. We have two for our two DDs.

We have a totseat but haven't used it since dd was about 15 months. We took it on holiday a couple of times. But a) it quickly got disgustingly covered in food, b) dd spent a lot of time trying to hang herself in it by wriggling and trying to escape and c) she was never high enough up at the table and any attempt to put cushions under her failed miserably.

Handysitt is great, I felt kind of sad when he grew too big for it a few months ago at 4yrs!
