I honestly don't know what I am doing...

DD is 12 weeks old, (7 weeks adjusted as was 5 weeks premature). She has recently, I believe, gone through a growth spurt. Prior to that she would basically eat and sleep, had got herself into a routine. I was confident in dealing with her. She was an easy baby. Now, it's like everything has changed and she is a completely different baby! I have no idea what she wants, and do not know what to do with her!
She used to only cry if she wanted feeding. Now she cries a lot more, and I don't know what she is crying for half the time! She's EBF, I've always had a forceful let down and a fast flow (seriously, it's like a jet stream), we use nipple shields due to latching issues and they seem to help with this also. She's been a bit fussy when feeding before, but now its 100x worse! She'll do feeding cues then fuss and end up not feeding. She'll be tired and take ages to get to sleep.

I've lost all my confidence and feel like I'm failing!

She doesn't have a temp or anything. It all started Tuesday - was feeding constantly Wednesday and Thursday (when I think growth spurt happened). Now this crying a lot and fussing during feeds yesterday and today.

Nothing that could be causing pain (I check her over twice daily and am always checking hands for fluff and hair). No temp, no tenderness over ears, nothing. She's been fine over night and feeding without fuss. Maybe it was just extended growth spurt, will see how she is today!

Hi OP, I remember feeling that a lot! She's was (is) forever changing what she wants and how she communicates that. I remember hearing about dunstan baby language about 5 months too late but here's a link to the lady talking about it on Oprah. Might help you???
Also My mantra was 'everything is a phase' your doing great and just try to go with the flow and believe me you will get there, it does take time
