Cots & Cribs

LO is only 2 1/2 weeks and sleeps in a moses basket at night next to our bed but will soon be grown out of it with the rate he is going!

In his room we have a cotbed built and set up but it won't come out of the room without being dismantled and then re-built in our room etc..

I'm thinking i's probably alot easier and less fuss to buy a small, simple cot from online or something & move him into his "proper" cot in his room when he's 6 months - just wondered what other people do/did.

This thread is a little old now so some of the suggestions may be out of date, but if you’ve landed here looking for a crib or bedside co-sleeper, we’ve recently updated our best cribs page with lots of great options, as tried and tested by Mumsnet users and their babies. We hope you find it useful. Flowers

We bought the M&P's crib & DD stayed in it till just after 1St birthday & them went into cot in her room. Worked very well. I miss having her next to me though.

I had a crib at the bedside which lasted til about 4.5 months, then the travel cot with a mattress for another month-6 weeks til we were ready to put him in his cotbed in his bedroom. A small cot would work as well. Depends what space you have really.

had a co-sleeper cot in our room and a proper big cotbed in his room. We got this one, it's a bit larger than most co-sleepers and lasted us well (DS was a 95 percentile for length) www.amazon.de/FabiMax-Beistellbett-Babymax-Matratze-PROTECT/dp/B009WQFPJ4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1399979658&sr=8-1&keywords=fabimax

We bought a cheap cot from ikea to go in our room when we made the first timers error of setting up the huge complicated cotbed in ds room before he was born!! I think it was £40ish!

We did exactly that - DS is in a kiddicare compact cot in our room but about to move into his own room any day now woohoo!
