Sling too stretchy?!?!

Hi, I bought a stretchy sling from victoria slinglady a couple of weeks ago. At first it was amazing! The first couple of times my DD absolutely loved it and happily fell asleep in it right away. However the last couple of tries I just haven't been able to get it fitting slug and secure, It feels too loose and stretchy and the tummy band but that you pull up last just gapes and sags at the top, providing no support at all. I've stopped using it because I can't get it right. I've watched the YouTube videos so am pretty confident I am tying it correctly. I haven't washed it yet, do you think that would make a difference? Any thoughts welcome as I am really disappointed with it now.

I'm sure you know this, but the two best bits of advice I found for avoiding this with stretchy slings is for the sling to be as tight as a tight t shirt before putting baby in, and putting the baby in really high--head right up under your chin.
Have you got a sling meet or baby wearing consultant anywhere near you? I had someone come to my home to help me get it right (and try out other slings and carries), cost about £20. But you can get the same advice from a sling meet. Baby wearing uk website has a list.
