Hurghada, first choice hol . We don't intend to leave the resort . It's not booked yet . I feel nervous taking my kids there. Do you think it's safe??

I've been to Egypt, it is a great place to visit. Go and enjoy and stop worrying.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 17/09/2014 21:16

I wouldn't. Not because the risk is enormous, just because there are so many other places that I'd like to go with much less (no known) risks.

TranmereRover · 17/09/2014 21:19

no, for same reason as Iwish. We are not going to Jordan at half term for the same reason, even though there's probably less risk despite it's geography

Yes. We've been recently. All fine.

I've been to Hurgada, it was ok, not a lot outside of our hotel complex apart from lots of other hotels. Yes I'd take family but equally it's not somewhere I'd choose to go again and it's too far from the pyramids to visit them easily

Pregnantagain7 · 17/09/2014 21:35

Nope not a chance. I should add I've been twice the first time was fine the second time my dp was so violently ill with sickness and the runs that I vowed I would never go again. My children are little and if any of them came down with what he did I would imagine they would have ended up in hospital. I stayed in a five star resort in sharm el sheik that looked spotless antibacterial gel everywhere and he still got ill just not worth the risk for me sorry.

Bedsheets4knickers · 17/09/2014 21:52

Yep we love Egypt we went when we was child free. Did the sights. We've already sacked of turkey this year and now just decided to do canaries again. My hubby wasn't sure on safety and I'm uneasy about current situations . Thanks for your time ladies :-)

I went to shark el sheik in February, it was crap. Apparently 5 star resort was grotty, pretty sure I heard somebody being murdered in the room above us- seriously. Food was crap, going out of the resort was absolutely awful. Tourist bus was bombed 2 miles away whilst we were there and the day we were going home others were encouraged to leave too. The fish were beautiful though, and snorkelling was brilliant. I've been to Dahab before, and that was much much much nicer. Too unpredictable, no way would my DD ever be taken to somewhere like that.

gemmalou123 · 17/09/2014 21:53

*sharm el sheik obviously......

Bedsheets4knickers · 17/09/2014 22:19

Ahh that's a shame our best holiday in 14 years was Egypt . I was actualy thinking along the lines to upset tummy safe but now you've mentioned it if feel terrible if mine got ill. Lanzagrotty will do for this year . It's annoying that u get so much bloody less for your money. Not to mention the lack of guaranteed weather x

No. I object to giving tourism money to a country where 90% of women are subjected to FGM.
