duvet or quilt?

DS is needing something a bit warmer as we head towards winter trying to work out do I need a cot bed duvet, single duvet or a quilt? He didn't like the sleepping bag so thats not an option.
What does your child use?

How old? I had a cot bed duvet for my ds1 till he was about 4, but the younger ones went straight from cot to a normal, single duvet on a bed. It depends how big the bed is really. They were in single beds from 2 so they had a proper duvet.

We have a duvet. Single duvets turned sideways and tucked under the mattress fit a cotbed perfectly and move around less than a cotbed duvet (best tip I've ever had from MN). At the moment it's just the duvet cover with no duvet though, as she runs warm at night.
