5 week old baby sleeping a lot

My baby has gone from being grouchy most if the day to draining his bottles and sleeping most of it. He's also sleeping a 5 hour stint followed by a four hour stint through the night. He's sleeping between every feed and other than being a bit constipated every now and then and very windy seems ok. Should I be worried?

Surely he wouldn't take his feeds if he was poorly?

It could be a growth spurt. My DD would spend a couple of days feeding lots more than normal, and then a couple of days sleeping a lot, and then I would notice her babygrows didn't fit anymore! Keep an eye on it and you're anxious, speak to health visitor, but it's probably that, or fighting off a minor bug. Babies' behaviour changes a lot at that age.

Thanks I was thinking growth spurt.

Would assume the first thing to stop would be feeding but not this baby he's drinking more
