maxi cosi cabrio car seat

i have a maxi cosi cabrio (about a year old, so not the cabrioFIX model) the base does lie completely flat on the car seat and am wondering if this is ok. the seatbelt goes round it well but starting to worry. you can buy a base which you can use to make sure it's in position but can you only use this with a cabrioFIX seat?

It sounds as if it is fitting ok in your car. Once seat is fitted with seat belt whilst it is empty you should be able to press very hard on the seat back (from inside seat) towards back of seat and it be very sturdy and not move. If it moves/wobbles more tha just slightly or seat belt allows it to move then it's not fitted properly. Best way to check is either go to your local council car saftey centre or to your local mothercare (trust council test centre more tho lol)
