GERMAN parents in RICHMOND/HAM? DEUTSCHE Gruppe

There's a group of German mums and their children meeting up every Monday 10.15-11.45am in Ham, Lock Road.

It's very informal & friendly , the mums (some dads, grandparents, au pairs are there, too) just talk - nearly all of them are native German speakers - and the children play with the toys provided. New people are always very welcome.

The age range of the children is from birth up to about 4 years - it's not that strict, during half term some mums sometimes bring their primary school children, but otherwise it's mainly babies/toddlers/pre-school children.

If you'd like more info, just email me on [email protected] or answer here - otherwise you can just turn up, but be aware that the group does not meet during certain school holidays (summer, christmas, bank hols).

Hello,

We just moved into the area so our boys can attend the German school (oldest would start kindergarten next year). My husband is German, and we will raise them bilingually however my German isn't fanstastic--I hope to improve!

I work Mon-Wed, so I saw the thread here and wondered if there is any other group getting together in a Thurs or Fri afternoon? If not, I am happy to start one if anyone is interested! We live in Kingston Vale.

For the sessions on Mondays, do they meet during the holiday periods, as I could come during half term sessions?

Appreciate any advice!!

Hi there,

the German Playgroup still meets on Mondays during term time but as far as I know does no longer meet during half term and other holidays.
Please note that my email in the first message is no longer correct, if you like email me on
[email protected] and I can give you the details of the current organiser.

Sing, play and learn... in German

We offer:

  • German classes for parents and toddlers together, drop-off classes for children aged 3 - 6, classes for beginners, read and write in German and different workshops.

  • All children learn playfully through traditional and modern nursery rhymes, games, drama, songs and art.

  • Together we celebrate traditional festivities such as Karneval, Ostern, St. Martin, Nikolaus and Weihnachten.

  • Small classes ensure that every child enjoys playing and learning with friends of similar age and language ability, enabling them to benefit in the best possible way.

  • Classes are led by qualified and experienced native German nursery school teachers.

  • The parents and toddlers group gives the parents/carers the possibility to socialize in a German speaking environment.

  • Classes take place once a week during term times in Knightsbridge and Fulham.

Check out our homepage www.heidiandpeter.com for more information and current workshops

Hello! I was wondering if the German playgroup in Ham still meets? I am English but studied in Bonn and speak German. I'm due to have my baby in the next few weeks and would love to develop a network of parent friends and speak German!
Thanks.
