About 2 but he still needed a nap every few days for a while on non nap days I sit him up on the sofa with snacks and some milk to watch kids tv when he seemed tired he will sit for anything up to an hour resting, if we are out he goes in the buggy then.

DS is 2.5 and now has an hour and goes to bed a bit later. I found dropping the nap completely made the afternoons/evenings meltdown Central

My just turned 2yr old dd still naps for approx 2 hours every day-she wakes at 8am,sleeps from 12-2 and is in bed for 8pm.She definitely still needs it as any days that she has missed her nap she is in horrible form come 6pm and completely overtired

DS is 2 and five months and dropped his nap (one hour, down from two) about three weeks ago. Yes, he does get tired mid to late afternoon, but I regard it as a fair exchange for him going to sleep promptly and easily at night, rather than the hour and a half long fiesta of shrieking, demanding more milk and stories etc that used to be bedtime...

Instead, I give him quiet time with some cartoons or stories on the sofa, which keeps him going.
