Leaving DD for the first time, please reassure me!

DD is almost 6 months old and has only ever been left with DH. Tomorrow I'm going to a job interview and I'm leaving her with a friend (we have no family nearby).

I'm feeling really nervous! It'll be for 3 hours max but I'm stressing out that she'll be upset especially as she's been really grizzly over the last few days. Argh, feeling really worried and also concerned I'll mess up the job interview as I can't concentrate.

Please tell me it will be OK..?!!

It'll be totally utterly ok. Even if she's grizzly, she'll be safe and cared for - and anyway, she won't be grizzly, she'll be interested and excited at new places/people to explore.

You'll be fine once you're dressed in interview clothes and in work mode.

And then you can book your friend for babysitting when you have to go out to celebrate your new job.

Thanks Phalarope. You're right, I'm sure once I'm in my dress and on my way I'll feel better. I just can't help but stressing! Thank goodness the job isn't to start until next year - if I do get it I'll have time to get used to the idea of leaving her (for 12 hours a week Grin - PFB much?!).

I was in a similar situation last week. Left DD (5 months PFB) with Daddy for 3.5 hrs (he'd only done. 30 mins before!) with a bottle of expressed milk ( she won't take bottles!). Had the interview- baby brain took over, was totally in mummy mode (simply mummy in a suit and no baby fluids on her !), convinced myself that I'd screwed up the interview, got offered the job on Tuesday :-)
DD was mixed emotions when I got home- was pleased for milk, and initial snuggles but then appeared grumpy with me as well (not sure she's smart enough at this she to care if I'm there or not)!
Good luck with the interview- your little one will be fine :-)
