DD went flying through the air......bad parenting alert!

Ok, more like stupid parenting. I was out in the garden with dd (aged 3yrs) I had picked up so her back was facing me and was spinning her round but instead of having my hands under her armpits I had my arms crooked under her armpits. After a few twirls she slipped out and went flying across the garden. Thank goodness she landed on the grass and was just winded but it could have been nasty if we'd been on a hard surface. So be warned parents....hands under the armpits not arms. What a muppet

Sounds nearly as bad as me - DS fell out of the bed the other day Doctors just laughed in A & E, but I was shitting myself with worry! Hes only 6mnths!

NotSoUselessMum · 22/09/2006 11:19

not something I might have done... something I am sure I WILL do.
I am not only useless but also clumsy.
I've incidentally smacked my 13m DD while pulling one armband up her arm. she fell off the bad twice, at around 6 months, and off the high chair with DH once.

(god souns really bad now - I swear she's fine and a much loved and cared for child).

A good friend of ours (incidentally a Dr) was swinging his little girl round by the arms and dislocated her elbow he was horified poor chap.

Loshad - my dad did that to me when he was throwing me and my brother onto the bed (in fun!) He was gutted. Even if you mention it now he is upset I remember it hurt like hell.
