How to cut back on breast feeding?

I've been BFing for 8 months now. DD was EBF for the first 5 months.

Up until now I've really enjoyed it and found it very easy. But lately, now that DD is eating more solids, she's using my boobs more as a comfort than a source of food.

Which would be fine, except it's starting to hurt me. I never had problems with painful nipples before, but her teeth, coupled with the nuzzling-not-really-feeding make me really sore.

I want to start cutting down on the BFing but I've no idea how to go about it. I still BF her to sleep for daytime naps and at night. How would I get her to sleep if I stopped BFing her to sleep?

Help!

No real advice by my dd irritated my nipple when teething. It would hurt for a few days then ease and a new tooth would appear.
