How do I stop myself being fed up with Ds's babyish pals?

Not all of them, just some of the more babyish ones. I don't display my annoyance outwardly (am trying to be adult about it) but I really can't be arsed with them and when they are around I get pissed off. DS is nine and is a great wee lad but can revert to this babyish ness when playing with these lads. I'm beginning to worry that boys in general are just weird. I can get the girls so much easier and communicate with them and chat but the boys sit and make faces, giggle, fidget, talk in funny voices. It does my bloody tits in.

What is wrong with what they are doing?
What is actually wrong with being 'babyish'
How mature are 9yr olds supposed to behave?

Take a big step back... They are kids. Still babies. They can save the quantum physics and sex talk for the rest of their lives after 18 etc.

Let him be a kid

Give them Call of Duty and let them watch a few Saw films. They'll soon grow up. Or... appreciate that this will be short lived.

I thought that's what kids do? Giggle, muck around etc...

I hear what you are all saying and you are right but I need some coping mechanisms. They are doing nothing wrong, it's me who gets irked by it.

They're 9, they don't need to be supervised. Let them get on with it and you do your own thing

That's what worries me :( why am I bothered? They are just being kids. I struggle sometimes as a parent. Guess we all have our moments and there's are always folks worse off. Today I want to get off out into the great outdoors but they just want to play. Of course they do. I'm just peeved at my life being constrained sometimes. Mostly it's ok but the weather is glorious today and I just want to get away from it all but the effort and faffing involved coupled with whining from ds doesn't make it worthwhile.

Don't enter into conversation/discussion just tell the boys you all need to go out for a walk as the weather is so good, you'll be an hour and then they can play when you get back.
