I have just successfully been promoted at work which is great but is going to be challenging.
On top of this I have been accepted for a NHS leadership course that lasts twelve months and suggests 10-12 hours study a week. Also requires essay writing.

I work full time hours which will consist of some shift works. I also have four children aged between 4 and 10.

Now I am panicking as to how I am going to achieve everything and where I am going to magic 10-12 spare hours a week from. Also I have not studied since qualifying 18 years ago!

I would love your top tips and any words of wisdom that will help me and make me less overwhelmed!

Thanks

If you have a iPad/tablet and can make notes on the go, try and use every free moment to formulate essay ideas (obviously based on the topics provided by the tutors etc).

When you read any books about your chosen subject, make footnotes either on post-it notes or electronically. Over a short period of time you'll amass a good groundwork of information and knowledge relating to your course.

Feel free to ask the older children the odd question as my son was able to give me different ways of looking at things when I was studying.

With the promotion are you able to claim or get some study hours agreed. If you haven't asked already, give it a go...

If I think of anything else, I'll let you know!
