Oh dear

my DD is 15mths old has been a good sleeper since 9mths when she finished breastfeeding. Tonight she went down as normal but woke at 9 ish REALLY REALLY screaming in pain, throwing herself backwards the works, tried for over an hour to settle her, gave her some anbesol for her teeth to find she had cut a new back tooth. She then refused to take any pain meds, as DH is on nights i was unable to force it in as we would do if he was at home.

I have just given her 6oz of warm milk in her straw cup to soothe her - have i been REALLY stupid??????? she hasn't had a milk feed at night for months and months, have i gone and undine all our hard work??? will she remember tomorrow and try it on again??

any opinions welcome, is sound asleep now
TIA

Wouldn't worry about it tbh.

dont worry, we all do things like that when our kids are ill. i let mine sleep in our bed for the night if it comforts them.

I doubt it. At the end of the day if she's woken up in a lot of pain and won't take meds then you need to find another way of soothing her and making her feel better which you've done as she's conked out again. That's not stupid that's caring

Thanks so much for your very quick reassuring replies, everything seems so much harder when your on your own at night!

Fingers crossed thats it for the night.

Wish i was able to settle her in our bed, she just struggles/giggles or jumps on me!! not much sleeping though

thanks again girls
