Does it get better?!

I have a very active 10 month old and am now back to working 3 days a week (mentally quite challenging job, out from about 8-6).
Due to issues with nursery my DS hasn't started yet so he is currently spending 3 days with his dad instead (DH has month of work thankfully), not sure if this makes things better or worse really...

Don't really know why I am even posting here cause I'm sure I just have to get over it and plod on. But I am just so tired I could cry.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I have 2 dses, 3 and 1 so have been back twice in the last few years. I was just the same initially but it does get easier. I just had to slow it down on the days I don't work. I felt that I had to cram everything into my days off - play dates, music groups etc but take it week by week and just enjoy quiet days at home.

Sounds similar, I also work 3 days in a challenging job. I work 3 consecutive days which helps - I'm either in work zone or home zone. It does get easier but it is hard adjusting Thanks

It's does get easier, it's very early days for you. Make lists to help. It took me 9 months to get used to it I would say. I also work 3 days in a demanding professional role. Having a good hubby helps as does a cleaner etc if finances allow. Hang in there, it gets better & enjoy your Mummy days x

I might think about a cleaner but just feel hugely overwhelmed at the moment.

As for DH, we seem to have drifted into competitive tiredness....

I hear you! I'm three weeks back to work too, have a 9 month old and a 4 year old and working full time, 5 days a week, I'm so tired because my weekends are now also so full of cleaning that I've taken to napping in my car at lunch! It's like first tri tiredness all over again! I hope it gets better for us all! X

PisforPeter · 18/08/2014 21:10

I know what you mean about that!!
Do you have family nearby to help?
I don't but I know some people find it helps x

PisforPeter · 18/08/2014 21:11

I promise it gets easier ;-)

EvenFlo · 18/08/2014 21:22

Thankfully my parents are fantastic grandparents and help where they can - but they work almost full time so I have to be mindful of that.

It's just feels that things get more and more relentless as time passes. And right now I feel like I'm being both crap at my job and crap at motherhood......
Plus I am now having to factor in 'time off' for DH the day before I start work and the day after I finish because he says he needs a break!!

Do you think it will get easier when you settle into a routine with nursery?
