As title says really. Ds is driving us mad by shouting all he time. He can't seem to use an indoor voice. He sings loud or makes silly loud noisy all the time.

He attends nursery 5 half days a week and I think it started when he moved up to pre sch room which has 25/ 30 children and its very loud. I think he has learnt to shout to be heard.

Dp is really fed up with it and is always saying shhh, quiet voice over and over which I don't think is helping.

Is anyone else's 3 year old like this? Or anyone got any ideas to help the situation.

Just a thought but have you had his hearing checked lately?

I have yes. But wonder if I was just making excuses for him. But think I will now someone else has said it. Thanks

I can think of a couple of different children I know who seem to have unusually loud speaking voices. In one case the boy's reception teacher suggested he should go for a hearing test, but it came back normal. I think some children just have naturally louder voices than others!

I think you and your DP may just have to accept it - although of course a hearing test is a good idea just in case. If he's anything like the children I'm thinking of, he may not really be aware that he speaks loudly, so it is very difficult for him to remember to keep his voice down.

Thanks for replies. Will ask nursery if they think he could have a hearing problem, then speak to gp.

I think he might just be loud though!
