My daughter is 3 in November and she is still using cutlery set from 12months + she sometimes struggles to cut her food as they don't seem sharp enough, she seems like she needs an adult knife and fork but with smaller handles, have seen them in restaurants but not sure where you can buy them from anyone know?
What are others getting of for 3 years using ? :)

IKEA do a set.

Mumof3xox · 17/08/2014 07:15

I think from 3 my dc have used adult cutlery

Ikea do a child's metal set. The knife in the set is serrated and cuts better than the tommee tippee crap. Our normal cutlery has cake forks and little knives for starters etc, the kids sometimes use them.

My dd has insisted on swapping her toddler set for my adult set halfway through a meal from about 18 months
Hmm

We recently bought a couple of sets of these from Amazon for our 2.6 yo. She's still getting the hang of cutting but the knife is sharp enough.

We have this from Lakeland but it's out of stock at the moment.

Zara Home had really nice childrens cutlery but weirdly don't seem to stock it on-line.
It looked a bit like this and they connect which is dead handy as we always throw a couple of sets into a bag when going out to eat with the DC's [4 & 2]

I'm impressed she can cut her food at 3 though. My 4 yo is still resisting any efforts in that space

Just hopping on this thread to ask has anyone used the knife and fork with the suckers and coiled rubber springs, so they can't throw them off their highchair? Are they a good idea for starting to use knife and forks?
