7 week old - it is normal to fart so much?

I'm probably being PFB about this but I am amazed by how much my 7 week old can fart. She puts my DH to shame. Is it normal?

She is EBF. She will strain and go red and get upset - then crack off a huge fart and go back to sleep. Sometimes she gets very upset, but it passes in a few minutes. Is she in pain? She hasn't had a poo for 6 days now, but the farts are beginning to get smelly, so I think a nappy filling is on its way. She has plenty of wet nappies.

Should I be worried? I don't want her to be in pain.

God, DD was a total guff machine. Completely normal.

No poo for 6 days is a bit concerning though.

6 days is still in normal territory for an
EBF baby though, it wouldn't worry me as long as wet nappies were still forthcoming.

EugeneKrabs: Guff machine! Lol - it is quite impressive, such noise from something so small!

QTPie: she does do a good "Barney from the Simpsons" burp, but not always. I admit to not burping her at night , as I BF lying down and she drifts straight back to sleep, so I am loathe to disturb her, as I fall asleep quickly after a feed as well and I need my sleep!

I have read people saying it could be diet related, as in mine, but I don't know how valid that is - and as I am gluten free anyway, cutting more foods out of my diet fills me with hungry dread!

My ebf dd at that age was exactly the same. Non stop adult sounding farts coming from such a tiny little thing. All the time. She burped too but most air came out below.

Also went days between poos. Was told this was normal.
