Moved house, left job, did I leave myself behind?

I've never posted on a site like this before but I'm really hoping for some advise, I just moved from notts to goole leaving behind a career which I loved to be with my partner and the father of my two kids who had been offered a job which he really wanted. I think I may have made a huge mistake! I know no one! I'm stuck in a dingy flat while my partner is out from 7 til 7 establishing his new career. When he is at home I resent him talking about his new job, new friends and how much of a great time he's having. I have 2 girls aged 8 and 20 months and feel like I'm letting them down by not being able to motivate myself to be happy. Any advise would be greatly appreciated

This was me two years ago! It will get better, it just takes time to settle somewhere completely new. I found it really hard, esp as I expected it would be really easy as I had a 5 month old baby at the time. But I kept plugging on going to baby/toddler groups and I now have a small but really firm friendship group. It still doesn't completely feel like home but it's definitely getting there. You just have to put yourself out there and don't expect miracles straight away. X x

Take the opportunity to reinvent yourself. Are there any hobbies you can pick up again, or find out what evening classes are available locally? Many start in September so now would be a great time to look.
MN local meet-ups?
Local church?
Health Visitor might have some ideas too.

Good luck.
