3 years and 5 months for my twins. We coslept before then.

Not feeding in the night by then (stopped feeding at 2yrs 6 mo and 2yrs 9mo) but they wake in the night and come and join us in our bed from that point. So we all wake up together. DS sometimes sleeps the whole night and so doesn't come in to us until he wakes in the morning. Probably that happens twice a week or so. DD always joins us in the night.

The opposite extreme to most replies, but it works for us :)

Our dd1 is 7 months and still in with us, she sleeps through but I just can't take the plunge yet to put her in her own room x

MrsHerculePoirot · 11/08/2014 20:52

Both slept in cot in own room from about 4 weeks and I slept in with them (not in the cot!!!) until about 3/4 months. Neither were sleeping though. DD slept through at 14 months, DS yet to see...

Ds went into his room at 5 months but I went with him as he was such a bad sleeper and DH couldn't sleep through it. I still occasionally sleep in his room now at 16 months and he still doesn't sleep through.

Only1scoop · 11/08/2014 21:02

At around 4 months.

Blankiefan · 11/08/2014 21:54

3 months. She slept through from around 5 months when she dropped the night feeds (FF).

I know it was earlier than the SIDS guidons but it was the right choice for us and at 9mo she's doing really well and very settled in her own bed. We bring her into our bed on very rare occasions if she's ill or the odd time she's not settled if she's wakened in the night.

applecatchers36 · 11/08/2014 21:59

She's just going into her own room now at 7 months when we finally got a baby monitor. She's not sleeping through the night.

nailslikeknives · 11/08/2014 22:03

DS1 - 4 months, waking for a feed about 4.30am, slept through at 6 months
DS2 - 5 1/2 months, sleeping through.

I had to wait a bit longer with DS2 as he went into DS1's room and I was trying to minimise disruption, tho they didn't settle together for about a (totally hellish) month.

weegiemum · 11/08/2014 22:04

Dd1 - coslept (on dh side of the bed as I was on medication) until about 7 months, then in cot in our room till 9 months, when she was sleeping through.

Ds - in bedside cot until 8 months, then own room.

Dd2 co slept until she stopped bf at age 2.

They're now 14, 12 and 10 and still crawl in with me when dh is on call and away overnight. But I like it!!

DD1 - About 7 months
DD2 - About 21 months (though there were specific reasons).

Neither was sleeping through when they moved.

It is a hell of a lot easier getting up in the night if they are in your room, but some babies reach a point where they wake because they are in your room.

My DS1 was 6 weeks. He's 11 weeks today and sleeping through the night since last week before that was waking just once in the night for a feed.

neversleepagain · 12/08/2014 13:12

7.5 months, both sleeping through, 6:30pm-7am.

itsliz · 12/08/2014 14:11

DS started sleeping through at about 3 months and moved into his own room at 4-5 months (purely because we moved house and his cot wouldn't fit in our room any more!)
He struggled to sleep in the new house for a few weeks but then went back to sleeping through at about 6 months.

7 weeks for us as she was really snuffly load sleeper, none of us got much sleep. I put her moses basket in the cot unitl she out grew it. She slept much better in her own room and I just went in for feeds (dimmer switch right down, no noise/interaction). She slept through from 17 weeks.

Aylish1993 · 27/08/2014 15:24

My little boy went in his own room in his cot from day one so was definitely not sleeping through, he is now 12 weeks and only wakes up once around 3-4ish everyone gets a better night sleep all round :)
