Can you recommend game toys for a 3 year old?

I'd like to suggest some games for dc's 3rd birthday list and think he might enjoy the orchard toy type games. However several seem to be basically the same toy but different themes. Can anyone recommend any games and especially 2 or 3 complementary ones? We have lots of snap games but no other games as such!

Dd is 2 1/2 and loves Hungry Hippos (though we just have the tescos own Hungry Dinosaurs)

Snakes and Ladders

Dominos, hungry hippos, pop up pirate, ker-plunk and loads of orchard games. Greedy guerrilla is a favourite with my 2.10 y/o.

I know what you mean, we have Incy Wincy Spider and Jack and Jill which are really the same - go up ladder, get sent back to bottom.

We like the rocket game, picking up cards to build a loopy trail, whoever gets the most loops wins. And dotty dinosaurs - roll a dice to match shapes or colours.

The shopping list game goes down well here, as does old McDonald lotto (very similar concept to both). My friend has dotty dinosaurs which is fun too. Not orchard but ds likes his peppa pig matching game cards (memory game, snap etc). At 3 I don't think they can grasp much more than basic rules :)

Pop up pirates and hungry hippos. Be prepared to abandon rules!

We have a few orchard toys which are all different games - dotty dinosaurs, shopping list, doodlebugs and flowerpot game. We also have dominos and snakes and ladders. (I hate snakes and ladders. Evil, interminable game Grin.)

Again with the Orchard Toys. We have loads. Shopping Lst with the healthy eating expansion pack is fantastic if you can get both.

Shopping List!!!

My nearly-2 and nearly-6 year old can play it for ages.

Good idea toribeen - he's already eaten his first bible!

The Merry Game of Floundering is popular here.
