Hi,
Our second baby is on the way and I think I would like to buy a perfect prep machine. I already have a selection of Dr Browns bottles. Are these compatible?

Yes I do

Yes you can use it with any bottles. We use Avent bottles with our PP.

Great news! Is it life changing?!

My SIL uses one and says its great but they can't use it at night because of the noise. Apparently the beep is outrageously noisy and they worry about waking the neighbours. They're not the type to be prone to exaggeration.

ilovepowerhoop · 31/07/2014 20:11

all it does is add hot water and then cold water to a bottle. It doesnt add the powder or do anything else so is quite expensive for what it actually does.

beccajoh · 31/07/2014 21:46

The beep is outrageously loud. I called TT to complain and they sounded baffled Confused "It's so you know it's completed an action." No shit Sherlock it can be heard at the other end of the village! I'm exaggerating of course but it is loud.

I like it. Its usefulness outweighs the loud beep, especially in the middle of the night.

Don't pay full price. You shouldn't have to pay more than £75 tops if you shop around. Or look on eBay and just buy a new filter for it.

We got when dd was about 3 months. Its great. No more faffing around with kettles, cooling bottles, warming bottles etc.

Though the beeping is loud. Think we paid £80 for ours. To me its worth it.

MrsHerculePoirot · 03/08/2014 11:51

The beep is loud, but it only beeps twice when the hot water is dispensed, then twice again when finished. There is no way it would wake neighbours and certainly isn't louder than a baby screaming for ages waiting for you to make a bottle!

CantThinkOfAGoodUserName · 03/08/2014 12:06

It is loud but I wouldn't go as far to say outrageously loud but In the dead of night everything is Loud I reckon :)
It is definitely worth it, we had it now for 6 months and it's amazing, especially I realise this now as it won't work if it reaches temp of 25 degrees (cannot guarantee water is correct temp so it cuts out) so In the recent hot weather we have had to go old school and boil kettle which I completely forgot how much of a faff is!

badfurday · 03/08/2014 14:18

Yep love mine too. You can use any bottles.
The beep is loud and at night time it obviously seems worse!
We had the same warning light issue in the hot weather which I thought was a pain, but good as it is making sure the water is safe to use. Following advice from google, a fresh batch of water and some frozen peas next to the filter for 20 minutes did the trick!

Its an absolute godsend during the night! And yes we use dr browns bottles with it.
Had the temperature problem too mainly during the night which was a pain we worked out if we put fresh water and a handful of ice cubes in before we went to bed it was fine by the time we needed to use it.

MrsHerculePoirot · 03/08/2014 22:44

Ice cubes work here too!
