Fed up with nappi nippas coming undone on my nearly 4yr old sons terries I've decided to try pins however I've heard some mums say Boots and Mothercare ones are flimsy and not that easy to get through the nappy on a wriggly toddler, anyone know where decent quality pins can be bought in the high street ?

I can't remember where I got mine - somewhere fairly cheap, I think - and I've never had a problem. However, you can get away without using nippas or pins and just holding the nappy in place with the wrap.

Twinkle do either Dirtz or Prin (i think that's what they are called) Prin are UK based and probably the pins my mum used. I've got a couple and they are way better than the Mothercare ones which are unusable.

I bought a pack of Mothercare pins and now see what others mean when they say they are flimsy.

Admittedly they work better than nippas once they are fastened but how do other mums get them through the nappy if the child is a wriggler ? At the mo mine squirms terribly the minute I reach for a pin :-(

Maybe it looks like I'll have to order better ones online after all.

A friend gave me 4 nighttime nappy pins, but forgets where she got them. They are much larger than ordinary ones and very robust. I think they are meant for use with very large child size terry nappies, but they work perfectly with ordinary ones and secure it perfectly on a wriggly toddler

I've not had a problem with the Boots pins I bought. Also, to get the pins to slide through the nappy more easily, stick the pin into a bar of soap.

Good idea, but make sure bar of soap is out of reach of little hand at change time!

Anyone know where the overnight nappy pins that Boomally mentions can be bought ?

Ask at Boots or John Lewis.
