Can any one share examples of how they have managed this? Thanks!

Well it's not prefect but here it is...
Our DS is 3.5 and DD is nearly 7 Months. They both go in the bath with my DH at 6.30. I then run about making tea for DH and I. Then I get the baby out and in PJ's. DH gets DS out and in his PJ's while I feed the baby. DH does story and gets DS into bed for 7.30. I normally eat dinner very quickly then continue feeding DD she normally falls asleep but does not properly sleep till about 9pm. This is the bit I need to work on.

I have dd1 (3.5) and dd2 (6months).
17:00 tea for both
18:00 bath for dd1 (dd2 joins 3 days a week - if not in bath then lies on towel and rolls around!)
18:30 dd1 clean teeth. Both into pyjamas. Read story
18:45 sit on dd1 bed and feed dd2
19:00 generally both asleep - transfer dd2 to cot.

Dh currently doing bathtime.

DD was 3.5 when DS was born. I was on my own as DH works late. I'd put them in the bath together (from very early on, just used a bath support for DS), then BF DS while reading DD stories in her bed. When DS was a bit older and actually had a "bedtime" himself too, I'd leave DD playing in her room (good day) or watching TV (bad day) after the bath while I settled DS.

Actually not that dissimilar to onestepbeyond

Thanks. This is really helpful. Does anyone do this with the baby taking a formula bottle at bedtime? Guess it wouldn't change much but just with DH giving then bottle in a separate room whilst I with 3yo?
