When to start brushing teeth?

My DD's two bottom teeth have finally come through.. So when can we start brushing them? Now or when she has a few more?

As soon as there are teeth to brush I think.

As soon as they appear so now! just a tiny smear of toothpaste, try and get in on the teeth but the important part is getting her used to it as soon as you can!

You can buy all sorts of different brushes designed for first teeth, chewy brushes etc.

Ok so I brushed her teeth this morning, and no fight from her which was very pleasing!! Only thing is, she swallowed the toothpaste after I brushed her teeth... How do you get them to spit after?! I brushed my teeth in front of her and showed her what I was doing..

Start now, I have a fighter - the neighbours prob think I beat him every morning and night the fuss he kicks up. I wish I had done it from the gums so he was used to it and not old enough to "dislike" it

I don't think you can get them to spit while young. I was actually told by the dental nurse not to rinse teeth and let the paste sit on them - but I didn't like the thought of him eating the ingredients so bought an organic natural kiddo toothpaste.

I think even adults aren't supposed to spit. Could be wrong though.
