Red and stinky neck

my 17 week old dd has got herself a red neck in the creases and if she gets really hot and sweaty her neck absolutely stinks! trying to get a drs appt is becoming near on impossible, so I took her to see the pharmacist who suggested a canesten cream which I have bought (clotrimazole) but I tried creams which made it look a lot more red and raw. The last few days I've bathed dd I have just dried the area and it doesn't seem so bad. any suggestions or help much appreciated

Sudo or liquid talc

Conotrane cream is the one you want it's brilliant dead cheap and smells of flowers. I get sweaty boobs.

We had this when DC was tiny. I'm so glad to hear others have it too. I felt like such a bad mother! Especially as it took a while to spot it...

I use baby powder sparingly for all creases in my wee chubmeister. My maternal mortification moment was when I realised how filthy the tiny creases between her fingers were- I don't know where she manages to find so much lint to pack in there!

My son has this too....it really stinks doesn't it? He also gets that bit behind his ears (which I actually find satisfying cleaning out!).

We found sudocrem really helped and also just letting the area dry. It's definitely not helped that he is really drooling at the moment but as someone else suggested I think the tommee tippee bibs are really good, soft but absorbent. I think the others can just irritate it further.

We used canesten cream, also diagnosed by a pharmacist. Iirc it did get a but worse before it got better so keeping going with the cream while keeping clean and dry etc.

DD1 was as fat as a baby seal, despite being EBF. I used to bath her every night, dry out her folds and coat with sudocreme. I had to dangle her over my knee, a bit upside down, fishy in the water stylee to get to the bottom of her neck creases.

DD1 had this terribly and I found lying her on her front so she would lift her head and to clean it while she was on her tummy with cotton wool then a think layer of sudocream. With DD 2 her neck is ok but armpits are really gross as she kind of pins them to her sides in the bath making it hard to clean ConfusedConfused so I put some baby oil on a cotton wool pad and wipe after when she is on her changing mat could try that with their neck (guessing olive oil/ almond oil would work too if you prefer natural)

Really common, just make sure you wash the folds of skin every night when you top and tail/bath her.
