My little one (now 19 weeks) started doing this and we let him, and he seems to be much happier sleeping like that. At first I tried moving him back but he just woke up and was grumpy. There were a few days of more wake up as he kept wriggling between being on his back and side and waking himself up but that seems to have resolved itself fairly quickly.

(Now have the issue that he's rolling onto his front since he worked out how to roll, but that's a whole other issue!)

My 13 week old has started sleeping on his side and it's a pain as he wakes up crying everything he falls on his bak or front. A lot of the time it's the only way he'll go to sleep though

The official advice is to roll them back onto their backs until they learn to roll back onto their backs (see e.g. www.lullabytrust.org.uk/back-to-sleep)
It's a bugger when they're that age that they can roll onto their tummies but not back again. Only lasts a couple of weeks thank goodness! I just risked it with mine - one of mine is a diehard tummy sleeper and was a rubbish sleeper right up until about the time that she started sleeping on her back so we were like, no way are we touching her now she's finally off!
