***POTTY TRAINING** WHAT AGE?**

My dd was potty trained totally by accident, about 2 weeks after her 2nd birthday I went to work one day leaving her with my aunt, forgot to pack the nappy bag and aunt took dd to the toilet all day...the next day she wouldn't wear a nappy and that was her! She even was night-time trained that same time.. so as you can imagine I am unsure of when and how to go about it with ds. He won't be 2 until December anyway so I am not rushed at all.. don't want to train him too early and have him scarred for life!

The childminder looks after 3 other boys and 2 of them are potty trained, one has been for a while now, he is almost 3 and the other just turned 2 in July and is being potty trained at the minute.. his mum says he is great @ home and uses the potty to pee and poo but when he is @ childminders he does it in his pants, that's with her asking him a lot of times if he has to go etc...The mum has got angry at the c/minder and said he goes at home so it must be something you are doing wrong... the c/minder just thinks that he isn't ready as she has been looking aftre children for yeard and has a few of her own. Ideally I would like to wait until DS is ready and not rush him ~ what is the ideal age do you think... or is there no age just when the child is showing the signs? I was talking to a woman in Tesco today who's ds is the same age as mine and she said she is potty training him starting next week.. I was a bit surprised but she said he can tell her when he has to go to the toilet so he is ready...

Any advice? Thanks

my dd1 was 18 months when she was potty trained. DD2 was just over 2 but was harder to convert to no nappies. However heard that boys take a little longer, so i'm no help really.
